English-speaking North America Coordinating Council (ENACC)

Yesterday ENACC met for the first time and nominated Jeff Brown as its proposed delegate to the GCC. Jeff's bio follows: Jeff Brown has been studying and practicing Nonviolent Communication since 1999, and is a Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication. He travels throughout the U.S. presenting workshops, primarily in his native Midwestern U.S. and on the West Coast. Jeff is also certified in community mediation and victim-offender reconciliation.

Jeff is earning a master's degree in Counseling Psychology, leading to licensing as a Marriage and Family Therapist, at the University of Santa Monica in Los Angeles, CA. Starting in September 2006, he will be based on St. Louis, MO, and spend part-time in California for his graduate program and NVC trainings.

Jeff's favorite applied topics for Nonviolent Communication are social change, where he draws upon his 5+ years experience working for three nonprofit advocacy organizations; and the spiritual foundations of NVC, where he draws upon his practice of yoga, meditation and various body movement therapies to coalesce a spiritual psychology approach to NVC.

Jeff is also the U.S. distributor for the NVC Dance Floors, a tool for learning NVC developed by Gina Lawrie and Bridget Belgrave from England. The Dance Floors are spatial maps made up of large, color-coded cards laid on the floor in various layouts called ‘dances’. People learning NVC stand up and ‘dance’ through the steps of a given process, often with coaching from a trainer or support from another participant.

UPDATE 6/25/07: I just visited this page today and wanted to offer an update to those who might be interested. My understanding of what occurred with the ENACC is that it met by phone for approximately four months (September - December 2006), and in the middle of December most of the group's members agreed to disband that incarnation of the ENACC.

As far as I know, it has been inactive since that time.

What is the Global Coordinating Circle?

Take a look at CNVC_GCC and feel free to ask more questions here if you're not clear.

I am a member of a ~12 person, free, self-led, NVC practice group and am wondering if this would be an appropriate place for us to keep track of our group agreements and such.
