It appears that the CNVC board of directors may have chosen to cancel the NVC World Project. I wrote the following statement to be read at the February board meeting in Switzerland:

begin letter to board ***********************************************************

This opening statement (in bold) was sent to me by someone mourning when they heard the NVC World Project was cancelled.

I have a dream of NVC in action - connecting all people on this planet in an easy way

  • To share information
  • To share pain and joy
  • To help each other
  • To support each other
  • To build communities
  • To make friends
  • And we would like to have a chance, a real chance.

I am afraid that you will not hear the needs of those who shared my vision. I am afraid that the cost of not listening to one another isn’t just that one of us won’t convince the other of our point of view, but that we will lose the heart of what I value most about NVC.

I am confident that when we listen to one another and we keep listening until we hear each other deeply, something truly rich and miraculous unfolds. I have a dream that we can easily and effortlessly connect the people of this planet in a way that will let this keep happening and that in so doing we can realize the power of NVC in action. I’m wondering if you’d be willing to take the time for all of us to hear one another before deciding what it is you’re going to do next.

Linnaea Marvell

I’d like to ask those of you who have thoughts or feelings about the project, to express these so that we can hear each other. I’d also like to encourage you to send your thoughts to the CNVC board of directors.
