Basic architecture

I wonder if the basic architecture of our site should be like the multilingual home page of www.wikipedia.org?

I like the idea of taking advantage of efficient examples. Wikipedia is one for me ;-)

Wait! I had a better idea, inspired by Google and "Don't Panic!" in the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. It seems to me that people are looking to the NVC internet either for empathy or information. So perhaps we should simply have

(a) choose your language

(b) choose between EMPATHY or INFORMATION

(c) when you click through to either, you get a range of options signposted (Empathy hotline, EmpathyNow, trainers/supporters .... ) or (wiki, network etc)

Why not ? What I like with the Wikipedia-style approach is that we don't know in advance what the user group will choose. When we set up a wiki I see it a bit like a facilitator setting up a Restorative System. Users will then choose while using the wiki as a Restorative Circle, what action-plan they will want to put their energy in. Maybe Two big entries : EMPATHY and INFORMATION, or maybe something else ;-)

I like the idea that like in RS, one of the key initial feature is “shared power” (like in a wiki where everybody can edit pages), then wee don't know in advance where the collective intelligence of the group will lead its path.

Cooping with some difficulties

Here are some questions and answers about some difficulties.

Joining within limits

Question - how's this
Anybody wanting the join his forces to this project is welcome, within limits: we would ask that people take care before doing major edits and many edits, that they introduce themselves to the existing group HERE, and understand that they are initially accepted for a provisional month, during which time we would like them to demonstrate their ability to work peacefully and collaboratively, with give and take and care.
-> Answer
I guess Dominic's experience about how to include newcomers into a Restorative Circle will be very helpful ;-) Isn't it Dominic ? --Dieudonné 09:17, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Wiki syntax

Question - how can we …
… create new paragraphs/pages for ongoing discussion, and can you/I create a paragraph to introduce the existing members of this group?
-> Answer
  • About how to create paragraphs/pages, you might find answers on the Help:Contents page (called Help in the left column).
  • About your ability to create paragraphs : “code is law” ! If you can, why not ;-) --Dieudonné 09:17, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Question - about help
is there a "how to use this wiki and how to add info/discussion" link?
-> Answer
  • About "how to use this wiki", see Help:Contents page
  • About "how to add info/discussion" link, if you don't find the answer in the Help:Contents page, You can ask for it in the associated discussion tab :-) --Dieudonné 09:17, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
