free calls to the US and Canada
earthcaller
Earthcaller allows you to call anyone in the USA and Canada, landlines and mobile phones. Calls placed through Earthcaller have no time limit. You will not be billed over the internet through this service, it is completely free.
You will need a microphone to communicate with the phone call recipient.
- Visit http://www.earthcaller.com with internet explorer (doesn't work with firefox)
- It will prompt you to download a small ActiveX component. Accept it.
- Enter a US/Canada Number and press the "Dial Number" button (not the enter key) - you can try 6022007002 (and the echo test number I set up 2062035600 . watch out for any leading or trailing spaces as then it will say it is not a US number.
- if you click on the "dialpad" button you can use the dialpad to enter a conference ID.
Once you click connect you can see the following messages.
Registering to SIP Proxy. Dialing… Trying to register. Registered successfully. Response: Trying. Response: Session Progress. Success to connect.
If you don't get this message exactly go back to http://www.earthcaller.com and try again.
